The International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Save the Children US (SC US) propose a dialogic workshop highlighting teacher motivation as a crucial area of focus for improving quality of education, and taking the first steps to collaboratively define, measure, and intervene to support teacher motivation in classrooms around the world.

The intent of this course is to provide educational researchers with a set of tools to assist them in unraveling the complexities of two of the largest and most important LSA studies currently taking place: Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) 2011.

Ensuring that children are healthy to learn and learn to be healthy while inschool is essential for achieving Education for All goals and other MDGs.At the World Education Forum in Dakar in 2000,international agencies agreed on a common framework for school health and called it FRESH: Focusing Resources on Effective School Health.

This workshop seeks to bring together ideas on teaching human rights (and research on such efforts) in a variety of international settings.

The objective of this workshop by the CIES Globalization and Education SIG is to bring together scholars and practitioners working on issues, concepts, and methodologies associated with the study of globalization as both researchers and teachers.

Cognitive neuroscience can guide policy advice towards effective student instruction and teacher training. The workshop will present the applicable neurocognitive concepts through simplified illustrations. The presentations will use many videoclips taken during World Bank missions around the world.
